The Free Presbyterian Church is a growing Presbyterian denomination which is serving the Lord throughout the world in such countries as
Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, Australia, Jamaica, Canada and the United States. It also has missionaries working in Spain, Kenya and in more recent times reaching into Liberia.
We are a Protestant, Bible-believing church, Presbyterian in doctrine and worship. Our motto is that of the Reformers: "The Scriptures Only." Believing the Bible to be the verbally inspired and infallible Word of God, we hold it to be the final authority for all our belief and practice. We acknowledge the Bible's revelation of God as One Who is absolutely sovereign, preaching that "salvation is of the Lord" (Jonah 2:9).
We adhere to the exposition of Biblical doctrine set forth in the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Articles of Faith of the Free Presbyterian Church.
Since God's people are to be "separated unto the Gospel" (Romans 1:1), we are free from all association with liberalism or ecumenism. These movements, and the organizations and churches working with such movements, compromise the Gospel and deny its very fundamentals.
Hence, we have no affiliation with the World or National Council of Churches, the National Association of Evangelicals, or the Charismatic movement. It is only as the Lord's people are free from entanglement with theological compromise that they are at liberty to proclaim the whole counsel of God. To take the words of the Apostle Paul in (Philippians 1:17), we are "set for the defense of the gospel."
We hold that the faithful preaching of Christ is the central part of Christian worship. We want every worshipper in our services to feel and know the preciousness of Christ, the One whom Solomon described so beautifully in his Song: "Yea, he is altogether lovely."
The Word of God is our sole and sufficient authority in all matters of faith and practice. It remains the secret and foundation of any church that aspires to do a work for God. Hence we read the Bible, we study it, we preach it, we seek to obey it, and we spread its message. And what a message it is! It is the good news that…
"God so loved the world, that He have His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life‟ (John 3:16). That…
"When we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us‟ (Romans 5:6-8).
Believing that fervent prayer is the secret to spiritual power, we emphasize the need for public and private prayer, that we might obtain power with God and power with men.
